Who we are
The controller of your personal data is QUIX Global s.r.o., Příčná 1892/4, Nové Město, 110 00 Praha 1, Czech Republic, Company ID 22466444, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague, section C, file 416432. For anything about your data, write to privacy@pub-rescue.com. We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the law does not require one for what we do.
Part 1: this website and the waitlist
What we store when you join the waitlist

Joining the waitlist is voluntary. Only the email address is needed; without it we can't tell you when PUB Rescue is available. We do not store your IP address, and this website sets no cookies.
When you visit the website
Like any website, ours can only be delivered if your browser's technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) reaches the server. Cloudflare processes this data to deliver the pages and to protect them from attacks. We don't keep request logs, and we don't use this data to identify you (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Legal basis
We process your email and your answers on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by joining the waitlist and confirming your email. You can withdraw it at any time with the "Leave the waitlist" link in every email we send; this deletes your address straight away.
To protect the form from abuse, the number of sign-up attempts from one connection is limited. For this, your IP address is used briefly in memory and never written down (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep it
- If you don't confirm your email, your sign-up is deleted after 7 days.
- If you leave the waitlist, your data is deleted immediately.
- Otherwise we keep it until we've sent the email announcing that PUB Rescue is available, and delete it no later than 6 months after that.
- If PUB Rescue is not available within 12 months of your sign-up, we delete your data then.
Who processes it for us
- Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA: hosting of this website, the waitlist database (stored in Western Europe) and our outgoing email. Cloudflare is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and its data processing addendum adds the EU standard contractual clauses as a fallback. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits without cookies and without identifying you.
- Seznam.cz, a.s., Radlická 3294/10, 150 00 Praha 5, Czech Republic, Company ID 26168685: our mailbox. It receives your emails if you write or reply to us.
We do not sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone else. We make no automated decisions about you and do no profiling.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw your consent at any time. Write to privacy@pub-rescue.com. You can also complain to the Czech data protection authority, Úřad pro ochranu osobních údajů, Pplk. Sochora 27, 170 00 Praha 7 (uoou.gov.cz).
Part 2: the PUB Rescue app
PUB Rescue converts Microsoft Publisher (.pub) files to PDF and PowerPoint files on your computer. It is built to work offline and to keep your files and information on your device.
What PUB Rescue does not do
- It makes no network connections of its own. It does not contact us, a server or any online service while it runs.
- It contains no telemetry, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not send crash reports.
- It does not upload your files, file names, conversion results or licence details anywhere.
- It asks for no account and no personal information.
We therefore collect no personal information through PUB Rescue.
What PUB Rescue keeps on your computer

PUB Rescue never writes your licence key or the licensee's name into converted files or reports. It never changes, moves or deletes your original files, and it never writes into the folders that contain them.
You can delete any of this data at any time: delete the output folders you chose, and the folders %APPDATA%\com.pubrescue.app and %LOCALAPPDATA%\com.pubrescue.app.
Files stored in the cloud
If you convert a file that is stored only online in OneDrive, Windows and the OneDrive app download it when PUB Rescue reads it, as they do for any other program. PUB Rescue itself does not connect to OneDrive. If the file cannot be downloaded, for example because you are offline, PUB Rescue skips it and says so in the report.
Microsoft Store purchases
If you get PUB Rescue from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the purchase, the payment and your Store licence. To find out whether you have bought the app or the Business edition, PUB Rescue asks Windows for your Store licence; Windows and the Microsoft Store answer that request. Microsoft's privacy statement applies to those services. We receive from Microsoft only what Microsoft reports to app publishers about sales, under Microsoft's terms.
Components from Microsoft
PUB Rescue's window is displayed by the Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, a component of Windows maintained by Microsoft. PUB Rescue loads only its own pages, which are part of the program, into it. Microsoft's privacy statement applies to the WebView2 Runtime itself.

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If you're on the waitlist and a change affects you, we'll tell you by email.
